Beginning Oil Painting
Dates: Thursday October 8, 15, 22, 29
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can begin on time.
Cost: $100. A Materials List is provided below as they are not included in the class fee.
This class is for the novice who has some basic drawing skills and maybe has dabbled in oil painting, but needs direction to help you on your way. Learn about the materials, brush stokes, tone and color and basic color mixing. The class will run for 4 weeks on

NOTE: At present I will be limiting the maximum number of students to 4 in order to meet the Covid 19 restart protocols. You will be sitting at an easel or table 6 feet apart. Masks are required when a 6 foot distance cannot be maintained and there will be plenty of hand sanitizer.
I suggest that you purchase artist/professional quality paints and paper as you will be most happy with the results that cannot be attained with lesser quality materials. I may have some materials at the shop available for purchase. Please check with me.
Paints: Cadmium Yellow Light or Lemon Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Red Medium, Viridian
Palette with cover suitable for travel back and forth
Canvas (stretched or panel) sizes 9x12 or 11x14
Palette Knife for mixing paint
Brushes: Flats sizes 3 & 6, Rounds sizes, 2 & 6
Artist quality mineral spirits or turpentine for thinning paint and clean up and a covered container like a glass jar.
Paper Towels, Paint Smock or Apron (or old clothes)
nitrile or latex gloves
