This oil painting was done in 1975. I call it “Grandpa’s Painting”. My Grandpa Cook believed in me at a time I didn’t have much confidence in myself. He paid for my first course at CCFL (now FLCC), Painting 101, and told me I could be whatever I set my heart on. I painted this painting in that class and gave it to him. It hung proudly in their home throughout his life. It now hangs in my home studio, but I plan on hanging it in the new studio that I am preparing to move into in May at 208 E Main St Palmyra NY. I have thought much about my Grandpa and the many others who have influenced and believed in me along the way and I am so thankful. Now as I work behind the scenes getting insurance quotes, designs for signage, picking out paint colors for the walls and so much more, my excitement grows. I wish my grandpa could be here to share in the dream as it unfolds.
